What's new?

July 26, 2010, 2:36 pm

Happy Summer! What is left of it, anyhoo. The Pier's numbers are down, but coming back thankfully. Jerome is happy in Seattle, and I am back on the prowl. Watch out single men in Chicago!

January 29, 2010, 2:26 pm

The winter is with us once again. I am still trying to sell one of my properties to move out to the Smoky Mountain region of Tennessee. Cross your fingers for me!

August 3, 2009, 4:10 pm

UCUV has been on the "Small Screen" via 2008's American Idol's Saisha wearing our Peace tee.

Now we are excited about the Silver Screen! Twilight's 3rd version will have our Jurassic tee from Dinosaur Walk Museum! Look for it!

Jerome and I are looking to move out to Virginia for lighter winters and more space to enjoy with the kitties. We will take the business with us, just leaving behind feet of snow and below zero weather. Cross your fingers for us!

May 7, 2009, 11:17 am

Happy Spring!
It seems the snow has finally left Chicago, and Jerome and I are hopefully doing the same this fall. We are looking to leave the wonderful Chicago area for the East Coast. We will continue to be UCUV, and hopefully open more stores in the Southeast area.

October 20, 2008, 4:49 pm

Fall has come again and we are about to go back on the road for Show Season.

We just returned from our Hawaiian Business Honeymoon. THAT was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I hope to have many new images reflecting our memories of the island... bike riding down a mountain on Oahu, Hiking through a bamboo and ginger forest on Maui and a rough but quite fun catamaran ride down the Na Pali Coast on Kauai. I would go back in a heartbeat, but will have to wait a little while. The kitties missed us terribly, as we missed them.

he summer has come and gone so quickly it seems it was just Memorial Day! We have new pics fo both our wedding and Sabrina, one of our Navy Pier gals on the top of Machu Picchu wearing her Bob Marley color changing tee!

We are working on our new Zoo and Aquarium line for the upcomming show season. Lots of new images and fun to be had. See you soon!

July 29, 2008, 12:59 pm

The wedding almmost went off without a hitch. It seems that when Jerome went to break the glass he managed to tear his gastronemius (calf muscle) enough to put him in a boot for a couple weeks. Do I feel guilty? Nope! I knew I should have taken a lightbulb like most other brides top be, but I had to take a real glass. I definitely can't say that we have begun our life together in a boring way. What is next? Only time and fate will tell.....

July 22, 2008, 5:32 pm

Well, we did it!
I am officially Mrs Heather Voelske! The wedding went off without a hitch and everyone thought it the best they had ever been to! We were honored with a Harvest Moon, Shooting Star, and Jupiter. The skys were cloudy and raining all morning, but opened-up for us for 12 hours, just long enough for the wedding and after party. The rain began again and everyone left.

The quote from the ceremony was, "All that is yours is mine, all that is mine is mine." oops on my part.

We will wait until October for the Honeymoon. Can't get away during the summer season... our reps would kill me!

June 30, 2008, 12:39 pm

Summer is in full swing and I had my wonderful bridal shower. It was quite nice seeing my relatives in a very small setting. 2 weeks to the wedding and Jerome and I couldn't be happier. Cross you fingers for good weather for us! Arrgh! Who will walk the plank??? perhaps Duane if he has too much Pirate Grog. That would put a damper on production here at the Cathouse!

June 12, 2008, 10:23 am

Whatever happened to Spring? It seems Summer has popped up before all the flowers, and construction is in high gear here in Chicago.

Jerome gets his knee surgery staples out today and the invites are officially sent out. July 19th is quickly approaching, and we are thrilled to have the best Pirate Wedding Navy Pier has ever seen. All those usual Saturday tourists will see 75 people coming down the Pier dressed like pirates. I will definitely have pics available on line somehow for all to see!

Hope to see you at the Pier on Saturdays!

April 1, 2008, 4:41 pm

Happy Spring... or is it???

Jerome had his second surgery and it went well. His new acl and partial knee replacement looks beautiful in x-rays and he is hobbling quite well for an old man.

New images are being produced including bats, a midwest moose, canoe scene and black bears. We are also working on more zoo and images.

I will be at our store at Navy Pier every Saturday now for the season and look forward to meeting more tourists and clients alike.

Happy Holidays!
We've been busy here at the Cat House...

We finally got our newest catalogue printed containing all of our newest images as well as pics of Melissa, Rachel and myself. We will also have an advertisememt in the January Issue of Souvenirs Gifts & Novelties Magazine.

Miss Sharah-Zaad is famous! She was our Christmas Cat a few years back and has made it into the Bad Cat Calendar for 2008. She is December 13th in both the poster and desk calendars. I couldn't be prouder. Who is next? Amber, Rose, Liebe, Smudge or Abby? Only time will tell.

Melissa has left us to spread her winds in other venues. We will miss her, but she will still be a part of UCUV as she is family.

Jerome has had his first of a three knee surgeries. A full left as well as partial right replacement are still needed. I am glad he got all of his shopping completed before going under the knife.

We look forward to a wonderful 2008! More new images, our wedding and traveling to more parts of the US and the Caribbean searching for the perfect places for our wonderful color changing tees.

October 3, 2007, 5:16 pm

Happy Fall!
Jerome and I just returned from a very fruitful Las Vegas Resort and Giftware Show. We are now going to be found at the Hoover Dam as well as many other wonderful spots in the Southwest. Next we get to go to the East Coast for a few shows there.

Melissa is working on a new UCUV newsletter which will keep our "family" up to date with the newest news and images we are producing. It even includes a special Kitty Corner just for our furry friends.

Hope to see you soon!

August 28, 2007, 12:33 pm

Happy Labor Day!
The summer flew by seemingly. We had a wonderful season and have been working on more images for the upcomming shows.

Matt has left us to broaden his wings in Gurnee, and Christy has left us to return to Russia. We will miss them both, but relish every moment they were here with us.

June 20, 2007, 2:25 pm

Jerome and I have set the date July 12th, 2008. We will get hitched in quite the extravaganza.... Ok, so perhaps not quite an extravaganza, but it will be special- on the Windy I, a tall ship docked at Chicago's Navy Pier. It will be all pirate themed, including the captain who will be in full costume. I can't wait to see the pics! My mother is getting excited about making costumes for the entire family.

"Do you, Dreaded Pirate Jerome take this wench..." "Arrrrgh Do!"

We will finish the evening with fireworks set-off by Navy Pier.

Summer is here!
We are happy to have Christina join us for the summer from Russia. She is a true joy! We will certainly miss her when she goes back with a new color changing wardrobe. UCUV in Russia? Anything is possible.

Our family has grown larger by the day. We have also brought Duane (Colby) and Heather on as printers.

Rachel is following her dreams is a zoo keeper working in the primate house for the summer. We still get her part-time, though.

Jerome and I are still trying to figure out where we want to get married and have the reception. One of the Tall Ships from Navy Pier is a new idea we are mulling about.

April 30, 2007, 11:25 am

Welcome Spring Finally!
The weather is finally agreeing with our desires to be outside and have our tees changing color in the wonderful sun!

Our family has gotten even closer now that Rachel and Melissa have joined my 2 printers living in my apartment building. Walking through the beautiful gardens here in East Village is a blessing going to and from work, a whole 3 blocks away.

If you are in the neighborhoood, pop by for a tall glass of iced coffee and assist us taking Amber, our tortie kitty for a walk on her paw print leash.

As March blows in with a bit of snow, Heather and Jerome are leaving to do business in the Caribbean. It will be difficult, but I think we will be able to deal with the sun and fun and a bit or work, of course. A 7 day cruise is exactly what the doctor recommended. Don't worry, there won't be any nuptuals on the islands. Heather's mom did that already in 2001 on the beach in St Thomas.

Melissa and Rachel are off to the Bahamas and Key West in April to do the same. It is really hellish working for UCUV.

Our new catalogue will be coming out in a month, so be ready to see all the new images we have, including the Pirate on black as well as the Daisy on pink.

December 14, 2006, 2:24 pm

Happy Holidays!
Jerome and I went to Myrtle Beach, Ocean City, Las Vegas and Pigeon Forge to do shows and were able to meet so many of the UCUV family whom I had not seen in years. It was a wonderful time!

Robert has left the business and has moved to Arizona. We are glad that he will be happy and golfing in his new life.

Have a Wonderful Holiday Season filled with love, family and color changing tees!

Heather

August 12, 2006, 7:16 pm

We have officially moved into our new home here at 1124 N Wood St in Chicago. To celebrate the move, we hired Rachel from the Pier and adopted 3 new kitties from the Feline association, a no-kill shelter. They are happy and content!

Jerome and Heather have set the date for next summer to tie the knot! We are still deciding where and details, but we think a Luau is in order... not to mention matching tattoos (Don't tell my mom, please.)

June 1, 2006, 2:20 pm

Happy Solstice Summer!!!! We are cranking on new images for new clients and our favorites all over the US, Puerto Rico and Portugal. Our family will have a few changes in the near future... the arrival of Matt to our printing family and our moving into the new facility will promote even faster turn-around with orders.

When in Chicago feel free to pop in and have a tall glass of lemonade with us!

April 27, 2006, 5:58 pm

Happy Spring!

We are looking forward to new improvements to UCUV. We are about to move into a new facility still located here in Chicago's Wicxker Park neighborhood.

Heather got engaged! I literally found the man of my dreams in her basement where the print shop is currently located. Jerome definitely has job security as one of our printers!!!

We have new images and clients to boot! I will try to get the site updated as soon as possible.

We also have a new catalogue which is already out dated, as we are producing SOOOO many new images.

I hope your Spring is as wonderful as ours is!

March 30, 2005, 1:46 pm

Welcome Spring!

We have new images for the upcomming season. The Pirate, Hibiscus, Flip Flops, Dragonfly and Sea Shells for adults.

For the baby in your life; Alligator Hatchlings, Loggerhead Hatchlings, Crabbys in the Sand, Seahorses, and a Wee Lighthouse.

Hope to see you at Chicago's Wonderful Navy Pier!

November 10, 2004, 5:00 pm

Things couldn't be better for UCUV! We are now world wide! We have a kiosk at Al Shallal, an Arabian amusement park. The Wizard of Oz theme park, located in Wheatfield, NY (our side of Niagara Falls) is due to open in 2006. They will have our tees everywhere in the park as well as in the accompanying mall. www.oz-central.com We have already begun a line of OZ themed tees.

Mix and Match, another UCUV sprout will be opening soon in Old San Juan, PR. When in the neighborhood, visit Teresa and see the new tees we have designed specifically for her.

ColoRAYtions is doing well in the Independence Mall in Indep MO, and they have a beautiful image of their Plaza Lights available in color change form.

Remember us for the holidays! Everyone loves color change, from baby to adult! We can have you color changing from head to toe!

Happy Thanksgiving!

September 13, 2004, 6:32 pm

This Summer has been an exciting time for UCUV! Our shoppe in St Simons Island, Georgia is going well and will be open until Christmas.

We have a new franchisee in Kansas City, Missouri at the Independence Mall. ColoRAYtions opened last month and Melissa is a wonderful asset to our color changing family.

We have new images which will be uploaded within the next few days. We have a Gecko, Legends of the Track, revamped Surfboards as well as a Prairie design.

Keep us in mind for the holidays. We ship everywhere Brown delivers and will include a personalized card.

April 16, 2004, 11:10 am

Happy Spring! Hope your Easter and Passover were wonderful.

We have officially opened the St Simons, Georgia store! Our manager Pat is an absolute doll, and an implant from the desert. She absolutely loves the ocean being 50 feet from our door. You have to pop by while on the coast, or if you happen to be at the G8 Conference in June.
The Gabriella Arlette Collection 2004 will be unveiled in the next month with approximately 5 new tees for Him and Her, as well as creepers and onesies by Rabbit Skins.

Unfortunately, we were not able to participate in the Daytona Bike Week. The restaurant backed-out last minute leaving us in a lurch. Can we say Black Listed from the Coolest Company in the US?!? We will be there next year, though and are looking forward to a thoroughly fun-filled exciting time with all the bike enthusiasts. Our bike line has grown in images and will be in production for the summer months.

Take care, and visit UCUV at the Pier Village Market in St Simons, Georgia.

February 1, 2004, 1:09 pm

Well, Chicago in the winter is truly an adventure. We are going on the road again, and are loving seeing the country, not to mention tasting the culinary specialties. We are happy to have new projects, including many bikes and racecars for Daytona (www.cruisincafe.com), not to mention the OZ project which whill be a theme park in Niagra NY which is about to break ground (www.ozcentral.com)! Welcome and, "ya'all come back now, ya hear!"
